"I didn't do it!" Veronica shrieked as she remembered that day again. Her chest was heaving violently as she tried to forget the nightmare. Slowly and steadily her wide eyes relaxed and adjusted to the room she has been acquainted to for years. Her hands automatically found their way to the lamp's thread and pulled it to illuminate the dark room. She never liked dark rooms. They bring in your fears. She took the glass of water from the nightstand, drank it in one gulp and kept it down with a loud clank on its initial place. She glanced up the clock, it was 2:30. It had been a while since that nightmare came though. But she was going to make sure that it won't become a routine. As she opened the drawer, and took her laptop out, she realized one thing
that there are many reasons to stay awake that are worse than Freddy Kruger.

My Mother Runs With Wolves

51 parts Complete

A genetically unique but emotionally lost teenager must figure out who she is within her mixed-up, warring world of Shifters and Wolfstalkers. ***** It wasn't Maddie's choice to be born a half-breed, half Shifter, half Wolfstalker -- a hunter of Shifters -- and it wasn't her choice to keep her identity a secret. But after trying to attend high school like any normal sixteen-year-old, things quickly spiral south when her Stalker uncle finds out about her and catapults her out of anonymity and into the awareness--or possibly the crosshairs--of The Order of the Wolfstalker. Maddie must think fast and figure out a way to keep herself and her family safe, or risk losing everything. Including her life. [[word count: 70,000-80,000 words]]
