'He raised his head, amethyst eyes boring into my own. My heart thudded erratically in my chest, waiting to see what he'd do next.
    
    "Come, let's eat," he murmured.
    
    "Wait what?" I spluttered. I splayed my hands on his broad chest and gave him a good shove. Fat lot of good it did to me; he didn't move an inch. It was like pushing a brick wall with all the progress I was making. "I'm not on the menu, buddy," I panted.
    
    "I didn't say you were but..." He smirked. "Are you offering?"
    
    "Ew!" I shrieked. "Hell no."'

    Her jobs were no walk in the park and having dealt with the likes of screaming, incorrigible children and ghosts alike, she was somewhat savvy in both.

He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok?
