The Girl in White is about an 18 year old princess who is seeking freedom, especially from her parents that expect her to do what they ask. She is the princess of the kingdom Orkasi, which lies on the island Orathis, a land symbolizing strength and nobility. Orathis contains three kingdoms: Orkasi, Memphys, and Estonian.
Anomie has wanted to be free from her parents for a long time and when her parents arrange a marriage for her and James Augustus, she decides that she should follow her heart and make her own decisions. Anomie meets James and realizes James true self and so she decides to run away from her kingdom in the forest to find a nearby village, but on her way. She starts to get these visions of a little boy... Who is it?
She faints and suddenly appears in a house. She cannot remember how she arrived there but only a man carrying her into his arms, walking...
