Harry's year couldn't get much worse. He is beaten at the hands of his uncle, witnessed the Dark Lord's rebirth, saw a friend die, and has potential insomnia due to his recurring nightmares that wake him screaming. On the summer before his 5th year at Hogwarts, the 15 year old Harry faces abuse by his own family that leave him a psychical and emotional wreck. When he is finally rescued from a literal Hell on earth, all seems to be well. But what lies in store for Harry Potter, makes the abusive actions of his uncle seem harmless. (sorta not really AU/ minor spoilers for year 4)
