In the heart of a quaint town lies the tale of Broken Record, a band fueled by dreams as vast as the open sky. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of a high-stakes battle of the bands, where passion clashes with adversity and bonds are tested in the crucible of ambition.

As the competition looms, tensions simmer within the band, threatening to unravel the delicate harmony they've cultivated. Carrie, the band's lead vocalist, grapples with a turbulent home life, where familial conflicts threaten to shatter her dreams. Supported by her steadfast bandmates - Ryan, Dash, Layton, and Micheal - Carrie navigates the tumultuous waters of adolescence, friendship, and self-discovery.

But when personal struggles intersect with professional aspirations, the band finds themselves on a collision course with destiny. Facing off against rival bands and inner demons alike, each member must confront their deepest fears and insecurities, forging bonds that transcend the stage and echo through the halls of eternity.

In a journey fraught with heartbreak and triumph, Broken Record must summon the courage to rise above adversity, harnessing the power of music to unite their voices and conquer the trials that lie ahead. Will they emerge victorious, or will the weight of their dreams prove too heavy to bear?

Violetta (Violet) Jackson has big dreams. None of which happen to include sitting in detention for a week straight for a lab disaster that wasn't even her fault. That's all thanks to Will Hawthorne, his friends (one of whom she unfortunately used to date and now torments her whenever he gets the chance), as well as a coincidental meeting with a kindhearted woman who Violet discovers to be Will's mother. Violet's goal remains unwavering - keep her head down at school and win the upcoming battle of the bands contest that would enable her to pursue her music career - but with Will now intrigued by her inexplicably taking the fall for him, that goal is easier said than done. Still, Will begins to prove himself as more than just a temporary derailing of all her best-laid plans, and Violet starts to see a side of him she's never paid attention to before - his optimism, contagious enthusiasm, and nerdy, unabashed love for anything to do with outer space. But as the end of senior year and the deadline for the contest approaches, Violet's hope of staying in the shadows starts to crumble and cause turmoil for her and her dreams in more ways than one. A story about love, loss, family, friends, dreams, music, and letting your true self shine through. Can I Have That in Writing?

26 parts Complete

Sophomore Riley Turner is all for starting a writing club at her high school with her friends, Vera, Sebastian, and Allison, by her side. It may be challenging to forget about her former crush on one of said friends. Even so, Riley wants to move forward and put the past behind her. But her focus begins to shift when Allison's sister Emily joins. Emily is quiet and shy; her father, a strict pastor, doesn't exactly allow for her full self-expression. Riley agrees to befriend Emily so that Allison can rest easy once she leaves for college. But things get complicated when she finds herself falling for her. Will she be able to resolve her own struggles while drawing Emily out of her shell? And how long can she keep her growing feelings hidden? Told from alternating points of view, Can I Have That in Writing? explores teenage struggles with identity, self-acceptance, and emotions that one might not be able to express through words alone. [CWs: swearing (mild), anxiety/panic, homophobia, punching. Brief mentions of verbal abuse, alcoholism, bleeding, and a family member with cancer/dying from cancer]
