Need To Know

I was recently convinced to write a story to participate in the Radish Writing Contest which ran from April 1 - 15. The writing prompt for the story was:

Every drink a character downs at the bar gives him/her flashbacks to the very thing he/she was trying to forget.

The story length was a minimum of 2,000 words and a maximum of 3,000 words.

I chose sci-fi (science fiction) as my genre.
