"I can't forget," I respond as the tears fall down my face. I watch as Michael approaches me and grabs my face. I felt him slowly wipe the tears with his thumbs. I felt the warmth of his fingers spark something when he removed them from my face.

"I'm not telling you to forget the unforgettable. I asking you to try and move on," he said while his eyes searched my face. I really want to move on, but how can you move on from someone that you have loved for eight years. I saw his face fall before he let go of my face and turned his back towards me.

"I want to be with you," he said softly, "but you have to want to be with me too." He then started to walk towards the door.

"You don't understand!" I yelled before he could leave. The tears were rolling down my face and I didn't try and stop them.

"I don't understand," he said, his voice starting to sound angry. "I don't understand."

"No, you don't understand!"

"Sophia! I was your husband's best friend!" He yelled, reminding me of the truth. "I lost him too! I understand everything!"

I stayed silent and my head fell.

"I was there when he died, I was right next to him. I couldn't save him! I understand your pain!" he paused, "I might not have known him for very long but we were still best friends and I still cared about him! I do understand the pain." He whispered, "I just moved past the pain." He then turned back around and left.
