Catrìona Adair is not your traditional damsel in distress. She is a fighter and has never needed or even wanted a man to protect her. She is independent, a spitfire, and refuses to take no for an answer. She also refuses to be placed underneath a man, she can be her own person.
When she finds out that her father has arranged for her to married, and for political reasons which just adds to her resistance, she immediately refuses to comply.
She runs away along with her best friend and trouble finds them on their way to freedom. When they desperately need help, a handsome highland warrior accompanied by a few of his equally handsome friends sweeps in and saves the day.
Catrìona is dumbstruck by this man, he makes her feel things she has never experienced before. He body doesn't seem to want to stay under control when she is in his presence. The more she gets to know him, she soon decides that when she is able to have her choice of the who, it's not so bad letting a man protect her.
