Frances Karlo, a young, privileged teenager in the Rinchu Empire, witnesses the world fall apart. She sees her home get taken away, and is forced to deal with the threats head on. She is thrown into the midst of conflict between Darkwing, the anarchist organization that plots the downfall of civilization, and the Great Order, responsible for keeping peace throughout the world. Responsibility falls on her, one of the last living mages, to halt this progressive destruction.
