A young man in his 20's, Jonathan Richards has lived a sheltered life. His ancestors being ones of those fortunate few to make it to one of the vaults. Vault 476, located in the Midwestern state of Kansas. Jonathan has never had to deal with the radiation that consumed the old war. However, that will change as the Overseer realizes contact with the outside world is a necessity for survival. Jonathan has always wanted to see the outside, so he volunteers along with a few others. Fallout is based on what people in 1998 would think people in 1950 would imagine the world would be like in the 2070s, then nuked. Fallout is more about the people and communities that try to move forward after a nuclear devestation, those who thrive, and then those who are drifting off, and those who have hit such a bottom that they have no further to fall. Many communities will rise from the nuclear ash for most to fail. In this world, there are no good guys; there are no bad guys. Everyone is just trying to get by and survive. The story takes a first-person point of view from a character who is pushed out of her home and into an unknown world. This world is mostly under control by two main factions at war though; one being the self-proclaimed United States and the other being the self-proclaimed owners of the counter, the Enclave. This story has many ups and downs and level offs. It has frustrations, situations, shows emotion, and thinking of the main character. It will read dynamically in its speed and depth in specific details as this girl looks for a new home in the post-nuclear wasteland in the year of 2300.
