In a kingdom hidden deep within the clouds above us lives a world where beings much like us exist, but with extraordinary powers. With the appearance of angels, yet lifestyles much like humans, this noble race lives in secrecy from humans, but actually defend our universe on a daily basis. This civilization is known as Highground, a land both feared and respected across the universe. However when their King, King Lightfang mysteriously goes missing, Halo, the Prince of Highground must ascend the throne and travel the many worlds around us in search of his father and true king of their world. But can one 12 year old boy really lead the universe's most poweful nation, while preparing for the dark forces that plan to destroy Highground in it's time of crisis?

Her school backpack was hanging on her elbows, and it hit her butt as she ran. Jack looked from me to Elena as she ran over to me, wrapping her little arms around my leg. Elena's cute brown curls bounced as she moved, and her big brown eyes shone as they looked from me to Jack. "Mama, who's he?" She asked me, her tinkly little voice ringing in my ears. "He's a friend of Mama's; why don't you go into the kitchen and wait for me, baby?" I asked her as I stroked her hair, and she looked suspiciously at Jack before nodding. She walked away slowly, eyeing Jack as she did. "You have a daughter?" He asked me again, and I looked into his eyes, trying to gauge his feelings on this matter. "Is it so bad if I do?" I asked, standing with my hands on my hips. "No, I hope to get to know her when you're ready." He said, and I blinked, a little astonished that he would be so cool with me having a child. Most dominant male wolves are against the idea of their mates ever having been with another. Hope Mayson was only 18 when her whole world shifted, and her best friend died. She died and left everything to Hope, including her baby daughter, Elena. To keep Elena safe from her father, Hope took her newly adopted daughter and ran. For 5 years, Hope kept Elena safe until Hope's mate, Jack, came into their lives, and soon the past catches up with the present.Compleet

It would tear him apart, cell by cell, until he was unmade. His mind being transported away. --- So distantly far away there is a race that advanced to the point where they built dyson spheres to house their civilizations. In their continual expansion, they seeded galaxies with pods and connection satellites. Over time they upgraded their dyson spheres into matryoshka brain Cores. Imagine a computer powered by a star. Citizens of Cores no longer age once they upload their minds into the virtual living system of the Core. While they didn't age, most still choose to cycle through life and death though at a different scale of time compared to our lives. Citizens can visit other planets and live there as if they were on a "vacation". Mercury is Earth's hub connected to the closest Core and Earth is a remote vacation spot for wealthy citizens. When the main character was 10 he witnessed a citizen returning to the Core. The story continues 10 odd years later when he again witnesses a similar situation unfolding and manages to touch the person returning to the Core. This causes him to be swept up in the transfer as well and for his mind to join as a "Guest" user of the Core. As a Guest he has limited powers, a starting balance of zero cr or Citizen credits, and no idea how he can get home. He is the first human to ever become a Guest of a Core. Where money itself is the highest form of their science.Compleet

The Quarter is quiet. Marcellus controls the vampires. The wolves live like outcasts in the Bayou. The Witches have a rocky peace with the vampires. The Mikaelsons raise Hope in their family home. All is peaceful, quiet despite the minor disputes. However the newest Scottish visitors have a long history that they plan on bringing to town. --- "They don't like the idea of new vampires in New Orleans." He reports shamefully, holding his head downwards. The butler seemed as though fearing for his life. I hold the lavender ball gown up to my chest, looking at myself in the floor length mirror. "On the contrary, dear Joseph," I pause, listening as my sweet Scottish accented voice floats around the room in tranquility. I turn to him, my ice eyes resting on him. "We are very, very old vampires." I drop the dress, and the butler looks up in fear. My movements are as fast as a striking snake, tearing out his throat in such a swift movement there's barely any mess. I look into his eyes as he raises his hands to his neck, falling to the ground in a light thump. I walk back and pick up the lavender dress, admiring my smiling reflection in the mirror as the tragically human butler bleeds out onto the expensive Russian rug. --- Some plot lines and moments of the Originals has been altered for this story. "Mamm did you say wolves are there?" "Yes Yes there are wolves about 10 of them out here in my front yard. I need help!" I hang up the phone and sit on the end of the stair case. I close my eyes and start praying. Something I haven't done in a while. "I have faith, there is a god. I have faith, there is a god, I have faith, there is a god." I repeat over and over. The glass breaks and I start screaming. I stand up and try to scramble up the stairs. The door comes falling down and there are about 10 wolves standing in front of my door. A woman emerges and walks toward me. She snaps her fingers and the pretty brown wolf is in front of me. Right there by my face. "Ridanna you know what to do." Her teeth is wrapped around my neck and she sinks them in. I try to scream but it's hard to. At first it hurts but now the pain no longer exists. I feel like there is no such thing as pain and I feel light as if I can float off the Earth. Fine as hell white boy with a pro-black activist fall for each other. Cherise Miss Activist doesn't want to date Zaire the fine as hell white boy not for his race but for his secrets. What if he had a past he didn't tell you about and the only way you found out is because the past came to kill you? And I'm not talking werewolves and vampires. But as the saying goes, 'be careful what you wish for.' He soon finds that his mother's paranoia was not unreasonable. When an unexpected stranger shows up as a substitute teacher at his new school, his entire existence flips upside-down. Truths about who and what he really is, are finally out but now he has to navigate a treacherous and dangerous path where friendship and loyalty are illusions, good is bad and up is down to save himself and everyone else as a prince's life is never simple, especially during war.
