When Antigo, an orphan, finds a corpse he is convinced of the Skekstatsiis's return! Village elders write it off as a delusion, or worse: a plot by the Trade League to disrupt the illiac harvest-not the mythic monsters Antigo's ancestors vanquished. Only Bersham, the old crone who raised Antigo, believes him. Together they must stop the Skekstatsiis before they can feed upon the souls of the Vale.

The Last Black Eye of Antigo Vale is something of a prequel/origin story/novelette in The Kakos Realm fantasy series and was originally published in Sorcerous Signals, May/July 2009. This book is available on Amazon, Smashwords, Audible, and many other platforms.

Infused with a mysterious, dark power, the lizard-men race of the balisekts invades the civilized territories with an overwhelming force. No one knows the source of their black magic, but it seems tied to a mysterious girl found in the woods. Welcome to a world inspired by the haunting lore of the acclaimed games, Darkest Dungeon I and II, crafted by the masterful hands of RedHook Inc. Games. This narrative is a transposition, a daring exploration into the abyss of the Darkest Dungeon universe. The ethereal essence of these games, with their ominous atmospheres and foreboding narratives, serves as the fertile ground upon which this story sprouts its sinister roots. A convergence of dread and fascination awaits, paying homage to the visionary developers who birthed this grim masterpiece. A symphony of darkness awaits, each chapter resonating with the echoes of despair and the crescendo of haunting melodies. As you immerse yourself in this odyssey, remember that the rights to the titles, names, graphics, and all other details lie with the Development Team and the modders who birthed the original visions. This novel is a labor of love, a tribute to the creators who have given life to nightmares and the modders who have extended its reach. So, dear reader, embrace the shadows, for within them lies a tapestry of fantasy woven with threads borrowed from the very fabric of Darkest Dungeon's essence. Your journey begins, and the darkness beckons. Enjoy, but tread carefully, for the boundaries between reality and nightmare may blur, and the echoes of the dungeon may linger even after the final page is turned. I highly suggest to read this without looking into any website linked down here to avoid possible spoilers. There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.

A monster hides in plain sight, feeding off of humanity while yearning to return to it. He was to have been an immortal undead, to have power and strength like he'd never known in mortal life. The Vampyrs lied. They took his life, but when he awoke he was not a Vampyr. He was something else, a creature so foul they abandoned him to die alone in a crypt deep underground. Kaleb survived by skulking in the shadows and preying on the dregs of society. Until now. In one moment of carelessness, a young woman witnesses Kaleb's atrocities. Unable to kill her, Kaleb takes the girl hostage, and that's when his life begins to crumble around him. When the local ruling Vampyr clan realizes what is living in their midst, they come in force to destroy Kaleb and wipe every last trace of his existence from the face of the earth.
