Zuri is not a happy person.
But who would be when you are constantly being bullied and hurt. It's hard to be happy when everyone either looks at you in pity, anger, or in such a judgemental way.
Zuri has never had it easy.
Ever since she was born she was unwanted, hated, or judged for rumors but mainly the truth.
The ugly, painful truth.
With her previous foster parents being either in jail or dead she has to set foot in another foster home.
It's easier to escape the hell outside when you have a safe place which used to be her uncles house. But with that choice gone she has to live with mean girls.
And their threats, hurtful words, and abuse just adds up on the many reasons to take her own life.
Especially when every hurtful word just piles up.
And one day it will tilt over and everything will mean nothing.
So she starts cutting.
Not only is blood lost but it seems as if so does the pain.
But when she moves to a new home and shes still hurting someone notices.
Someone notices the cuts on her wrists, the silent tears, and fake smile mask that molds her face.
But who would have thought it would be the schools 'badboy' to fix her broken pieces.

Nixon is the 3rd book in the Broken Series. (Ryan is the 1st, Brynn is the 2nd) Nixon leaves rehab early because he can't deal with being there anymore. His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
