Behind the Badge

He swore to protect and serve, but when Dean Harcourt comes face to face with his first, real shoot out on a drug bust gone wrong, he leaves the big city of Dallas, Texas and returns to his much quieter hometown of Summer Springs; where the worst thing a person could do is run the traffic light in the center of town. He takes a job in the Summer Springs Police Department where he spends most of his time catching stray cats, drinking coffee and teasing the new dispatch officer, Jo Elle. However, as idyllic as Summer Springs seems to be, someone is causing trouble around the outskirts of town, in Sheriff Hayes’ territory, Dean’s boyhood rival.

When a man is found dead, execution style, the investigation kicks into high gear, forcing the Summer Springs authorities to work together and two enemies to become partners. As the violent deeds begin to unravel, Dean is confronted with a past he has yet to heal from and a threat to the future he is trying to build.

Only when he allows himself to deal with the tragic events of that day, will he know who the real man is behind the badge.
