James Tennor is an author who's lived in Crystal Falls, Michigan, for the past five years, keeping to himself and doing his best to stay out of harm's way. He lives in solitude as a possessor of magical abilities; the protector of a magical artifact as old as Time itself. When a friend takes him to the new nightclub in town and someone dies on the dance floor, James has to team up with a mysterious stranger with powers not unlike his own to take down the Orilas, a group of deadly magic wielders whose joys come in destruction and chaos. Their ultimate goal of breaking the barrier between the Earth and the Shadow Realm could mean the destruction of the world as they know it.
