This is a Robin x Reader fanfiction for all you Young Justice fans out there. Hope y'all like it! :)
You saw them standing there. The Team. (I don't know what they named it. Sorry. T-T) The superhero's apprentices and sidekicks. You always wanted to be in that league, maybe to get your mind off your dark past. But you didn't know that it would change your life because of one little birdie. This was your new start.
*You are a superhero but you lurk in the shadows so no one will know. At school you aren't popular, instead you get bullied. You have a mask for your hero costume that makes you feel happy, independent, strong, and not scared. Without the mask you are scared and worry of your past, that people will find out who you are, what happened to you. You are scared that people will reject you even more. So you hide all your pain behind a fake smile. The smile that HE is confused about. You also forgot how to love because of that terrible... ( read to find out who :p )But that all changes when a little birdie pops up and rescues you from that. What will happen if he finds out about this past? Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. My parents were both scientists for Star Labs, being two of the many others that died in the blast. Needing to get away, I decided to move to Gotham. A good city to hide in. Maybe it wasn't the best city to move to, but, in the end, I'm glad I did. In the crazy town, I was adopted by the two craziest people there. The Deranged Duo, Harley Quinn and Joker. "Rescued by villains, who knew?" I say. "Villains rescue fellow villains," Joker says. "Sounds funny coming from you," I scoff. "Aww, is that the way you should treat your saviors?" Joker teases. "I could've taken them," I scoff. "Why did you save me?" "We watched you take out the last group of thugs," Harley says. "We've been looking for a protégé, sorta like how Batsy has that sidekick, Robin, was it?" Joker grins. "We like you. You're funny." ... When you're the youngest, you often have to work hard to prove yourself to others. Whether it's to friends, family, or strangers, you can never give up you're ground. "Hey!" Someone yelled, and we all stopped, turning to the voice which belonged to the girl I saw earlier, with the exception of Batman who took the opportunity to launch the nearest man to him across the bridge into the railing, where he slumped to the ground. The Joker was first surprised and then amused. "A new toy!" He squealed with delight. He walked closer towards her, having forgotten me giving me the opportunity to peel my right arm out, giving me a better angle to see and defend myself. While the Joker wasn't terrifying to look at, honestly, he was fairly unassuming, with the exception of the weapon and the deranged smile and look in his eye, but I had seen many people with a similar expression, he had a very off-putting aura around him. She seemed entirely unbothered as he lurked towards her. Then she did one of the stupidest things I have ever seen in my life. She climbed up the railing and jumped off, to the roaring, dark, cold water that was at least 20 feet below us. When the Young Justice team is introduced to a new member they are all somewhat uncertain of her, along with the Justice League. With powers unlike they've ever seen before and hailing from a different planet they are not sure what to think of her. She seems to be hiding something and Batman seems to know something about it.
