Rebecca Rose has grown up with an abusive father and has learned to live with pain. Physically and mentally, she is prepared for anything. The only thing that has kept her going is her best friend Zoe Lynn. They have been the best of friends ever since Zoe saw Becca cry in a park 6 years ago and they share everything with each other. But when Becca almost gets killed on her 17th birthday by her father then she's had it. She decides to leave and since Zoe doesn't really get along with her foster parents either they leave together for a better life.
But life will be even more of a challenge when they meet their mates. Becca and Zoe are free spirited but their mates is overprotective so they come up with one mischeif after the other to get them to chill, and maybe get a good laugh while they're at it. Will Becca and Zoe give after the mate pull or will they fight it? And what happens when Becca finally decides to reveal her secret to everyone in the pack? The secret that she is indeed a fox in more ways than one...

Nova disguise as a boy to enter the military school. If she is discovered as a girl, she will be kicked out. She is desperate to hide from trackers who have been following her for a dozen years. "Shhh, it's going to be okay," he says, pressing me close. My whole side explodes with sparks. It tickles me. "You have to stop hurt yourself. Why are you even here? How am I going to protect you here?" he asks angrily. "I don't need your protection!" I shout, pushing him away. I get an angry growl back. Quickly I grab another knife and throws it over my shoulder, hitting bulls' eye. He glares at me, and the room has gone completely silent. That's when I discover that I may have gone too far with the insanely possessive highness, even though I'm grateful for the extra lessons he gives me. Then suddenly everyone hurries out of the training area. Leaving me alone with the growling, red eyed alpha.
