Why am I so afraid?
I see an opening in the woods and head straight for it, exploding out of the dark abyss. It was an empty clearing and all that stood there was a man. I instantly felt an odd sense of safety. I take a single step and I hear a gun go off.
Bang.
It resonated deep within me. Everything slows down as I watch the man slowly crumble to the ground.
I hear someone screaming. It was loud and gut-wretching. It was me...

As he saunters over to me, with a devilish hint in his eyes, all I could think about was how freaking pissed I was for my own body betraying my mind when it told me to run. I take a deep breath and close my eyes as he reaches his red stained hands towards my face, knowing this could be my last moment on Earth. "Michael," I yell, pulling on his arm, "you gotta get up, ok?" Reluctantly, he begins to run with me into the Forrest. I pull him quickly as he recovers from the fall, despite feeling drowsy from the chloroform. The man must have recovered by now and chances are he's gaining on us at lightning speed. There's only one of him and two of us, he can't take us both out. Just as we approach the lake, we split, confusing the man. He had stopped and was watching us both run away, probably evaluating which one of us he had a better chance with. I turn back to look where I'm going when I hear a loud bang. I scream. Pain flares up in my lower leg as though something bit me. The bullet ripped through my leg but stopped as I clearly have no exit wound. Then, all of a sudden I'm finding myself joining an Italian Mafia gang, outnumbered by too many males, and a great big secret happening within the shadows that anybody who tries to find out said secret is met with a violent end.
