in which Erica Parker escapes Mount Weather, and lands right in the middle of a war between peoples, finding romance along the way.

"Love is not weakness, Lexa. Love is strength. The people you love give you the power to succeed, to protect them when they need it. When you stop caring, that's when you have nothing to fight for. That's when you are weak."

"That is when you put the people you care about in danger, when your enemies see them as something they can use to get to you. That's when the pain never goes away. The dead are gone, Erica. The living are hungry."

THE REASONS || Bellamy Blake ~ the 100 by KylieRutledge17
82 parts Complete Mature
BOOK I: The Reasons - the ground is unforgiving. So is survival. Madison Cameron was born in space, a child of the Ark, never feeling the sun on her skin or breathing the fresh, unfiltered air of Earth. She's never experienced the sensation of water, the way it would flow against her or lap around her as she swam. For three generations, humanity has clung to the Ark, floating in the cold vacuum of space, its fragile walls the only barrier between them and extinction. The Ark was all they knew-sterile, artificial, far from the dangers and beauty of Earth below. But now, the Ark is dying. It can't sustain them much longer. They are the last hope of mankind, a fragile chance for survival. The Earth they land on, however, is nothing like they imagined. It's not a fresh start or paradise - it's a nightmare. The air is toxic, wildlife monstrous, and every step is a battle for survival. The Earth is alive, but it's unforgiving. Amidst this chaos, Madison and Bellamy Blake find themselves at the forefront, taking on the roles of leaders. Both carry the heavy weight of responsibility, knowing that the survival of the remaining human race rests in their hands. They both strive to protect their people, to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival. But where Madison is focused on the harsh reality of survival-pragmatic, calculating, determined to keep them alive - Bellamy's vision is driven by something more abstract: freedom. They clash over their ideals - her need for structure, his thirst for freedom - and every time their paths cross, the tension between them makes their already perilous situation even more volatile. Yet, the Earth continues to test them. It doesn't care about their petty squabbles or their hopes for a better future. The planet doesn't care about Madison's desire for control or Bellamy's lust for freedom. It only cares about one thing: survival. The day that Lexa met Clarke, she found out about her two rules. The first, was to never fall in love. The second, was to never let anyone fall in love with her. But as it turns out, rules are broken everyday and they both end up falling head over heels in love with each other. The reason Clarke had those rules is a secret, until one day she can't hide it anymore, and after some very big events, decides to leave Lexa. She thinks it's what is best for Lexa, so she leaves without so much as a word of where she is going. Lexa searches for Clarke for three years. She is a writer and decides to tell their story, in hopes that Clarke will read it and come back to her, or at least let her know she is ok. What happens when they come face to face again, and will hearing their story told from Lexa's side help Clarke realize they can be together and happy. Can Lexa convince Clarke that she wants to be with her no matter what, and that together they can make it work?
