Her mother does not have much luck with men . Though , lilac was born out of wed-lock . Lilacs feelings towards heaven does not change .This young lady holds, hope, sheer willpower to forgive , to fight for what seems morrally right. Her biological father left her mother when she was Ten years old . He was a workaholic. Though lilac still sees him, it is not the same . 
She remember's, back, before he became a workaholic. Back when her mother was with them. Mayella was a sweet selfless woman, whom would do almost anything as a mother.
She treasures those moments . Refusing to live in the past, heart achingly wanting to live with her biological father in her memories. What will lilac do?
