"Really?" I heard John ask, as he and Sherlock were in the other room. I had made it a habit many years ago to eavesdrop on my father's conversations, what else kind of fun is there in this rotten flat? "You really decided to have a child all those years ago, because you wanted to see if you could raise it to be like you?"

"Precisely." Admitted Sherlock.

I heard John scoff, "And did this 'magnificent' plan of yours turn out the way you hoped?"

Sherlock paused and said, "No, it was an indeed failure."

"And now you're stuck with a seventeen year old girl who has never had a mother."

"Is it that obvious?"

"That she's motherless? Why it's bloody written on her face."

"No," He replied, "I meant is it so obvious that I'm stuck with her?"
