When Claire Moore's parents get a divorce, she is forced to live with her dad on a small ranch in Tennessee. What's worse is that she is forced to leave behind her past, the only thing connecting her to her best friend. Her sister. She's certain she'll never find happiness again, after all what is there for a seventeen year old to do in Tennessee. But when she takes in a horse and discovers the rodeo life, things start to be looking up. While she's in it for the fun, her friends are in it for the boys. But that doesn't seem to faze her. Especially since she has become one of the best barrel racers in the state and could go on to the national tour. But what does faze her is a certain cowboy, Dylan Goodwin, who she can't seem to forget about.
Dylan Goodwin has been in rodeos for as long as he can remember. Riding bulls is all he's ever known. Ever since his dad died he's been riding just to pay the bills. Hoping to pay the bills he takes up the very thing that killed his dad. Bull riding. Ready to go onto the national tour at just the age of nineteen he's never thought about settling down. Nor having a real relationship. After all cowboys are all about one night stands. That is until he meets Claire. He finally realizes there's more to the rodeo than just money. And there's more to life than just one night stands.
So what happens when they meet? Will they fall in love? Or will the tour pull them apart? And is competing really worth it if it means losing the person you care about the most? And will they learn that love is better than any ride?
