The girl, Elaine, winces, stumbling as she holds her side. Her hand stains with blood insantly. Without hesitating, Sif rushes over to her, helping her stand. "You are hurt, young one. You have just come from battle, I think."
Elaine nods, but tries to push Sif away. "I must give her a warning. I must..." Before she can say another word, Elaine falls to the ground, her eyes fluttering closed as the wound in her side pour blood.
Sif turns to Hogun. "Run! Get help!" Hogun nods, turning and rushing away at furious speed. Sif turns back to the mysterious girl, holding a hand to her wound. "Do not fear. Hogun has gone for Eir, our healer. She will make you well." Elaine continues to mumble unrecognizable things. "What is it? Who are you trying to get to?"
Elaine turns to Sif, grabbing the warrior by her arm. Sif's attention is caught, focusing only on the next words that she utters.
"I must speak with Gloria Maximoff."

It's been five years since the Maximoffs said goodbye to the Avengers and their old lives. As far as the world knows, they're long dead. Living in Sokovia has treated them well, but everyone feels that something is coming.
When Thor comes back to Earth for the first time in years, he tells of a girl who came through the Bifrost with one of the Infinity Stones in her possession: the Time Stone. She claims to be from the future and comes with a apocalyptic message: The universe itself will be destroyed if Glory and the Avengers can't change the past.
Thanos is coming, with him Death and destruction, as he claims each Infinity Stone for his own. This is the Infinity War Glory has been dreading.
Who is Elaine Nomad? Is she who she says she is? Will Glory and Pietro be able to pull the Avengers back together to save the universe from Thanos? Will this dance with Death be the end of the Avengers?

Instead of bringing Pietro back, the machine sends his body and mind to an alternate reality, where the Avengers are in comics and movies, and Quicksilver himself is no more than a famed character among nerds. Glory Northern is a high school student, almost to college. Planning to major in Creative Writing, she plans to try to work for Marvel Comics, creating the very characters she loves so much. Okay so I know I said I would be rewriting it and it is kinda true bu the rewrite is getting a bit further from the original path. I am however updating the new version on AO3 if anyone is interested. I am putting this as a finished fic for now. I might post the new version on here too, but I don't know yet. Not long after Wanda leaves, something causes Freya to have an episode with her powers. But instead of her powers lashing out, they're forced to contain an out of control Freya in order to protect the others. Once it passes, new revelations begin to tie everything back to Wanda and her unknown activities. However, that worry and hope quickly dissolves into fear and guilt when an old friend reaches out for help with a situation only Freya might understand. In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story.
