A Breath of Mars [Open Novella Contest]
[Open Novella Contest 2019 Ambassadors Pick] 2061. Mars was officially certified as inhabitable. 2067. Mankind finally got a breath of Mars. On the day she is set to marry her fiancé, Daria (Ria) Diles is tasked by the International Space Agency (ISA) with a standard reconnoitre mission on Mars. Becoming the youngest flight captain at the age of twenty-two has Ria jumping to prove herself to the agency, so she accepts her orders without hesitation. However, the routine orbit and observe mission quickly takes drastic turns when their module is pulled by unknown gravitational forces and explodes on Mar's surface. Stranded on a foreign planet with no way home, the crew of the Luna Module find themselves in a remorseless fight for survival. Ria's new mission becomes to ensure the safety of her 12-man crew, but just because Mars is inhabitable doesn't mean it's survivable.Complete

Deep in the Depths
The years came and went. Earth is no longer the only planet out there, and adventures are only just beginning for Aurora's crew. Bessie Marvin didn't think she would be selected to join the Aurora. After all, as a freshly graduated agriculture bioengineer, she lacks the experience most of those in her position hold. So, why would a government send someone like her out to the great unknown? The answer comes sooner then she thinks when their ship crash lands at their destination, a water exoplanet with little land in sight. Orion has always wondered if there was more beyond the glowing lights of his world. This idea pulls him away from his tiny reef and the ocean's comfortable currents, creating a fissure between him and his family. When a strange creature crash lands onto his tiny island, Orion knows this is his chance to finally tame this growing curiosity once and for all. However, meeting Bessie Marvin and falling in love was far from his plans. With the world between the two of them collided, there's no way to go back how things once were. Now, they will have to navigate cultural differences from both space and ocean if they wish to stay together throughout the growing tension between the two sides. After Curfew
Willow's always been known as the good girl with the wealthy parents who could do no wrong. Distancing herself from the people at school has become lonely, but everything changes when a group of bad boys that she meets after curfew one night transfer to her school and begin to take an interest in her; one even more than the rest. But will they be able to protect her when events from her past re-surface and begin to get her into more trouble than she ever wanted? ********************** We were a circuit, electricity flowing through us at every connection, every light touch igniting a heat that was exhilarating but dangerous. Like we could catch fire and burn to the ground at any second. "Did you take your own advice? Did you ever forgive yourself?" I whispered, my words evaporating in the heat around us. He moved towards me, trapping me against the car door as his lips traced over my jaw, down to my neck. "This," he whispered, his thumb tracing the waistband of my jeans, making my breathing falter. "Allowing myself to feel this happiness, to feel you...this is me forgiving myself." He kissed me, calming the raging storm in me and igniting a new one. I wasn't sure which would cause more destruction, but I knew only one had pretty blue eyes and a effortless smile that could convince me it was all worth it. It probably was.Complete

All other humans are genetically engineered. Earthborn are crafted. They are beings of extraordinary beauty who are physically sustained, not by food alone, but by the pleasure of others. She is inexplicably furloughed to Earth where she learns that Peacekeepers working outside the system are trafficking Earthborn to an advanced alien species. If the quotas are not met, all of humanity will be destroyed. Some Earthborn, suspicious that something nefarious is going on are plotting a rebellion, but they are ignorant of the greater threat.
