Pinky Promise and Kiss It

"Pinky promise me we'll never leave each other's sides." he demanded as he reached over and grabbed my hand. "Pinky promise." I said as his pinky wrapped around mine. For the next hour there we sat- the TV blaring, me pressed into his side with a blanket wrapped around us both, our pinkies still connected- nothing else seemed to matter but us in that moment.
Now, just a month later I'm sitting alone, staring at my wall covered in old memories of us, with tears streaming down my face.
