I walked through the school hallways with my head held high and my steps with confidence. No one looked, no one noticed. All they saw was the girl with the so-called perfect family. They saw the girl who was at the top of the social hierarchy, popular and "loved". No one knew. But then he came back. After the torture and waiting, he finally came back. 2 or so years passed by, the scars inside and out plastered with fake smiles and happiness. It wasn't until he came that no one knew of the silent tears.

We held our breath as we heard footsteps enter the dark room. My heart raced and I covered my mouth to keep from screaming as tears ran down my cheeks.
