Pain leads to so many things.. People endure pain ignoring it and welcoming it so they can get use to it and feel stronger. People hate pain making a big deal if they got hurt. People ignore pain feeling nothing which is the next step after enduring pain after you've lost everything you become stronger because you have nothing to lose. People turn that pain into hate like some villains the pain that struck them cut so deep they let that raw cut turn into something dark. People heal it they leave it to scar them for a while then they heal afterwards like Sa-sama in public.. shes more depressing that you think. They use pain to their advantage when they get struck they want to get abused even more so they can tell the enemies attack pattern and finally strike back. Lastly there are people who enjoy watching people getting hurt and watch them from the distance learning their weaknesses so they can avenge/revenge something they've lost.
