Laila Jennings is a normal 17-year old. She's the most popular girl in school, everyones her friends. Head cheerleader, student body president and straight A student. She has fantastic friends and an amazing family who support her through everything. Everything is going great, until someone new comes to school. Or is he new? 

Enter 18-year old Brandon Hamilton. A dark handsome boy who's good at everything. Not up for being popular, but somehow ends up in that type of crowd. When Brandon transfers to Riverside High School, Laila's life changes. She thinks more and more about the past, about what happened with her dad. Who is this Brandon?

#1 Best friend who has always been by Laila's side, Jake Davidson starts to notice Laila acting...different. Jake has always been there for her, through thick and thin, up mountains and down through valleys. With the highlights also comes the dark parts, and Jake has always been there. He has always liked Laila as something more than friends, but has never had the guts to tell her. What happens when he finally does?

What happens when your best friend changes? What happens when you think you like someone one way, but it ends up different? Will Laila fall apart with Brandon back in her life? Or will she move on?
