Lovino was always compared to his elder brother, Feliciano. He was bullied when he was younger, taking his life; his grandfather and guardian never got to see him grow up, but they got to watch Feliciano grow up. Wasn't that the same?
Feliciano, over time, started to get quieter and quieter, eventually become mute to the world around him. Lovino regretted his decision because he let everybody down; if he had never taken his own life, he could have prevented all of this.
