Unbound

The air harshly chilled around him, frost and darkness emanated from his entire being. His back was turned to me and I couldn't help but notice how impressive it was despite the situation. Through the black, velvety robe his broad shoulders spanned a massive length. The dips and curve of every muscle prominent through the material.

I shivered and not just because of the sudden cold condition in the room.

"Your two mistakes today could have cost you your life. Number one," he held up his index finger and continued in a deep baritone, "coming here unprepared. Number two," he raised another finger, "ignoring this insect's instinct," he tilted his head slightly towards Damien who was still suspended in the air. "Insects, by nature, are sensitive beings - some more than others. In the future, it would be vital to listen within yourself and not just your ears." He turned, a hood casting a shadow on all of his features but his delectable mouth.

Maya Milton is a perfectly normal waitress by day and a demon-hunter by night. Armed with her trusty weapons and magical dragon tattoo that protects her from harm, she eradicates Otherwordly problems on the side until she finds her mother has been brutally murdered. Now she is out for vengeance, blood only able to quench her thirst.

In exchange for finding her mother's killer, Maya has agreed to train with an enemy - a dark, brooding demon who chills the air around him - to hone her fighting skills as sharply as his tongue and hopefully sink her blade in the killer's back.

Of course, that's unless she doesn't become this arrogant demon's dinner first.
