In 1766, the scientists discovered a formula that would make normal people better and become more powerful. They gathered several children and injected them the substance. They waited months and nothing happened so they return the children to their parents and stop the experiments believing that they failed.
Helena Freyd, a teenager who lives her normal life. Until she turned 17, several things started to happen to her. She possesses an uncontrollable gift that could be the key in saving the humanity from people who would like to destroy the entire human race and build a new one. But there are people who want her to be killed in order to let her not fulfill her purpose. She met people that would help her fight to a war nobody have witnessed before. When twins Skylar and Jake were born, their scientist parents used them as an experiment. Each was injected with a dose of serum that would supposedly make them much stronger, smarter, simply better than other kids. But somebody added a chemical that changed the effects of the serum. As a result each twin got only half of the traits they were originally supposed to get. Skylar got the strength and speed while Jake got the brains. When they realized what had happened, the twins' parents immediately put them up for adoption, so neither one knew of the other. 12 years later Skylar is constantly failing all her classes, and Jake is getting bullied because he is so much weaker than other kids.
