Three years into their arranged marriage, Ryker and Soleil's relationship had only grown more toxic. The union, orchestrated by their fathers - the President and the Vice President - was meant to solidify their families' alliance and secure their grip on power. Ryker's resentment towards Soleil had been building up over the years. In his eyes, she had ruined everything - his chance at a real marriage, his freedom, and his happiness. He couldn't forgive her for taking her sister's place, for being the constant reminder of his trapped existence. But Soleil was confused. She didn't understand why Ryker blamed her for everything. It wasn't her fault that her sister had run away, leaving her to take her place in the arranged marriage. She had tried to make the best of the situation, to be a good wife and partner, but Ryker's hatred had only grown stronger with each passing day. As a way to escape the suffocating reality of her marriage, Soleil turned to the one thing that had always brought her joy - dancesports. She had been dancing since she was a kid, and the familiar rhythms and movements were a comforting respite from the stress and anxiety of her life. For a few fleeting moments, she could forget about Ryker, their loveless marriage, and the suffocating expectations of her family.
