The fate of Alagaësia is once again in the hands of the Riders. A necromantic spree brings back deadly villains from the past. The Varden is reformed in order to battle the darkness...
But now all is lost. The mad King and the Wyrdfell have returned. The Varden have fled. Eragon, Arya, and Murtagh flee with them, their hearts breaking for the fate of their home...and of the dragons, once again slain, all but Saphira, Thorn, and Fìren, who, though they are strong and wise, cannot stand against the evil dragons---who are no longer nameless---and their masters.
But once again, a light shines on Alagaësia.
Five Riders come anew, destined to oppose Galbatorix for the second time.
But whether they win...
That is up to them.
For this, to us, is but a game. The playing of roles.
But to them it is Fate. It is their Wyrd. And you control it.

Erys: An Eragon Fanfiction - (Under Editing)
In the time Eragon has been absent from Alagaësia, the riders have fallen to vices. Few have been able to raise to fulfill the roles the riders had originally been given, and a dark sect-reminiscent of the Foresworn-has risen to power. The cities and villages under their control live in fear, and those not already sworn to them are too weak to fight. Erys is a young girl living a simple village life. When men attack the village, her father disguises her as a young boy and makes her swear never to reveal her identity. When the marauders discover her, they take her and the other women and children hostage. Erys struggles to survive. Hiding her identity is almost impossible, and once they get her to the slave market, she would be trapped forever, and her true identity discovered. She plans her escape every night but has no idea where to go or who to trust. Her only sure plan of action is to free her mother, who has disappeared along with the other women captured the night of the attack. But first she has to escape her captors.
