To my readers, For those who believe that true love is like a really good book-impossible to put down and full of plot twists. Kalia's POV: I've never had a normal life. From birth, I've known nothing but pain and fear, used by everyone to get what they wanted. Just when I thought I was finally free from my past, it hit me harder than ever. I was forced into an undercover mission to dismantle an illegal weapons syndicate and got caught in Easton's relentless obsession. Now, I'm trapped in a marriage I never wanted, battling my past and the guilt of my mission. As if things weren't complicated enough, the only man I've ever truly wanted is Easton's best friend. Our love is impossible, and I had to push him away, choosing duty over my heart. Jay's POV: Taking over the underworld empire my uncle left behind wasn't my plan, but it was necessary to protect those I care about. I've worked hard to clear the name Venom and establish a new rule. But now, there's a problem. She's back. She's the one woman I've ever truly wanted, and I can't have her-she's married to my friend. Yet my feelings don't care about boundaries. I want to protect her, to keep her safe, but as our paths keep crossing, I'm drawn to her more each time. She's my light in the darkness, and I'll keep fighting to protect her from afar, even if it breaks my heart. Easton's POV: I never imagined I'd be this obsessed with someone again. My angel had come and consumed me. I can't resist her. She's part of my world, whether she likes it or not. She's mine, and now that she's back in my life, I have to have her, even if it means forcing her. This is my second chance, and there's no turning back.

[BOOK TWO] "Anniversaries to some are like counting the years spent doing something great, years spent together, or years spent alive." I started slowly, voice dropping to a drawl as I peeked cautiously out of my bedroom blinds, scanning the road to see if there was a cloaked figure watching my every movement. "I view anniversaries as counting down the days till death finds me." *** After the events of her wonderfully packed 21st birthday, Addison was ready to retire back into her home and never again see the light of day. It wasn't a totally bad idea. After all, her family's generations-old riches was enough to tide her over until the day her past finally catches on, and until that day finally arrives, she had no intention to step out of her front door. And to think the last time she did, she ended up in the game of cat and mouse with a cynical hooded spirit that wanted her dead and her soul in a glass bottle for his own little sadistic collection. Silence had followed the whole year after the disastrous party. For nearly 365 days, Addison had no trouble with unwanted evil celestial beings lurking around her house in an attempt to take her soul away with a world-stopping kiss. However, the silence was too often, and the world had become too quiet. Reason being? Apparently, Death's new move was to kidnap her best friend Minnie Hoover in an attempt to bait her down to hell itself. Life became much quieter without one-third of her little clique. And so Addison ventured away from the safety of her home, in search of her best friend. After all, silence creeps the heart just as death does, and the world was now deadly silent. ***** Highest Rank Fantasy: #9 Highest Rank Teen Fiction: #77

It's not been an easy year. Not in the slightest. But things are slowly returning to some kind of fucked up normality I guess. Though even this is better than 8 months ago so I'll take the slight improvement. One other person's lapse of judgement has altered my life in way's I'll never really understand but this is my life now. I know I'll be okay. I have to be. 16 other people weren't okay. I was. By some chaotic otherworldly reasoning beyond my control, I'm okay. I'm ALIVE. Fucked in the head or not, I'm not letting it stop me. ~~~ Aria Clarke hasn't had the best year of her life. When one fateful night, she turns into an underpass and her car is dead center of a huge collision, killing everyone on sight but her. Almost a full year into her recovery, after spending 9 months being judged and tormented, swallowing pills to numb the effects, therapy appointments and learning to live her life with her new scars, she craves normality. Anything. Just one person to treat her how she used to be. When one of her closest friend drags her on a double date, that's the plan. Normal. Be normal. As Cameron spends his weeks with Aria, her walls crumble and she lets him in, showing him the darker side to her life and when he embraces it with open arms, things couldn't be more perfect. One accident later and Aria's world is flipped on it's head, sending her down a path that leads her 10,000 miles across the world and into the arms of her oldest friend. The years pass and with a new thriving life in her hands, Aria has a choice to make. Do you favour the people you knew in the past, or the ones who barely know the current you? After 4 years, no one really is the same as who they were.
