Farrah Travers didn't know how to feel when she was told that she had to go to Silverhaven to live with her sister's family in their small house. Her first thought was that her parents no longer wanted her around because they refused to tell her why she was suddenly being sent away, and her second was that she would never survive in a place that was a far cry from her real home. They told her she would fit in, make new friends and find joy in a new way of living but Farrah knew that she would never ever see it their way.

With little choice she took the train that fateful morning in despondent spirits. Unknown to her, Farrah's quiet black and white world was about to be painted over with colors brighter than any she had ever seen.

For 17-year-old high school senior Evan Brooks, life could be better. He's a social outcast at school, stuck in a rural Alabama small town he never wanted to move to, and he's got a secret he's desperately trying to keep: he's gay. When he embarks on a weekend vacation to the Florida panhandle with his hypermasculine brother, homophobic stepdad, and aloof mother, none of them can anticipate how much a simple 3-day trip will change their lives forever... **2025 Update: Hi! This was my very first attempt at crafting an entire story from scratch all the way back in 2020, and I'd like to think my writing has since improved. I've started working on a big rewrite project, so stay tuned for a newly enhanced story! Please visit the last chapter (2025 Rewrite Info/Updates) for more details. In the meantime, the original story will remain here in full - just know that I know some parts of it are cringe lol. I hope you still enjoy it though! :) Some details have changed between this story and Road to Rockdale in anticipation of the rewrite, so please excuse some inconsistencies if you're coming from that story. I promise everything will line up eventually! CONTENT WARNING/TRIGGERS: Please note that this story contains very strong language at times and some mature themes. Some characters face emotional abuse. There is also a small amount of physical abuse, but it is mostly implied apart from one scene which is not extremely graphic. Some characters are homophobic, and a slur is used a handful of times.

"The moon's really beautiful, if you think about it," I blurted. "Yeah?" he asked, mild amusement and curiosity mingling in his voice. "Yeah," I confirmed. "It's just- there's something about the moon that's ethereal. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's a constant in life. You can't always see it, but you have to trust that it's out there somewhere. And when you can see it, it's all bright and shiny and overcomes the darkness." I paused, searching for the right words. "I don't know. I guess it's a reminder that there are good things out there, even if you can't see them... And it's cool to think that someone hundreds of miles away is staring at the exact same moon as you. It makes me feel not so alone in life." Turning my head, I saw him staring at me intently with a thoughtful look on his face. "Too deep for a Friday night?" I laughed nervously, feeling my face grow hot. And this was precisely why I didn't go to parties. He shook his head and seemed to snap out of his daze. "It was deep in a good way." *** SHE was quiet & left out. She lived a life of quiet suffering-cast aside, unloved, a mere stepping stone for the real female lead. When death finally came, she thought it was the end. But then she woke up. This world is nothing more than a novel, and she was written to suffer. Not this time. Now, she will rewrite her fate, take revenge on those who abandoned her, and make the male lead regret ever overlooking her. But breaking free from the story is not so simple. Someone is watching, and this time, she's no longer a forgotten side character-she's the villainess rewriting her own destiny.
