Ranked #5 in Mass Effect

Promoted to Staff Lieutenant and reassigned to the prototype ship, the SSV Normandy, Kaidan can't wait for the next chapter in his career to unfold.

But when the mission on Eden Prime goes horribly wrong, amid intrigue, murder and ancient artifacts, the Normandy's shakedown cruise is far from ordinary. And when he starts falling for his Commanding Officer, it becomes the most challenging assignment he's ever faced.

Excerpt from Dragon's Teeth:
《《 "I suppose not. But you are still a remarkably strong-willed woman Shepard. What you learned about the Protheans is amazing."

"Nightmarish visions of synthetics slaughtering all organic life isn't exactly what I'd call amazing." She scoffed. "And neither are the headaches."

"Oh, by the goddess! I'm so sorry!" Liara exclaimed. "I didn't mean to make light of what happened to you. It's why I'm an archaeologist, I always manage to say the wrong things to people. I prefer working with ruins and artifacts." 》》

Book 1 of the Rising Phoenix trilogy. Would you choose love over peace? Two months away from her graduation day, all Cerise wants is to keep up her grades, continue inventing, and somehow manage to pay off her rent. The fact that she's Paris's secret thief by night makes life all the more exciting. That is, until she gets caught by her stepmother. The last person she wants anything to do with and the president. Her freedom from years in jail comes with a price - stealing from the Drakhenae. She has to steal the one thing that can give her race, the humans, exactly what they need to get rid of the Drakhenae once and for all, information on something stronger, something more than the Drakhenae, something that can destroy them. Information on an experiment that happened fifteen years ago, and about the test subject who disappeared. Despite the confusing tension and rough history between the two races, and the fact that to humans, the Drakhenae are predators, more reptile than human with their leathery wings, slit pupils and the scales on their cheeks, Cerise agrees to go. But her heist couldn't go more wrong, and to make things worse, she gets caught by Everard, the infuriating, confusing, drop-dead gorgeous Drakhenae. Add in the secrets of her past, and the fact that her heart is torn between two people, one with promises, another with secrets, Cerise doesn't know who to trust. And she quickly realizes that things can get worse, and can get worse fast. {Word Count: 50,000-60,000} **Will be undergoing a re-writing soon!
