After getting lost on a, what was presumed to be inhabited, new island, a viking warrior by the name of Roar, with his men, brace the troubles of this uncharted wilderness. Along the way, however, they come into contact with a beast previously only heard of through chronicles and mythological accounts, will this beast be as cold-blooded as it has been depicted though?

Blader Thrym never meant to get into trouble, but it always seemed to find him. "Shit" I swore holding my nose, it seemed broken and the effect of our collision drew some blood. "Gosh, I'm so sorry" a soft feminine voice apologizes "I swear, I didn't notice you were there" she says again. I turn around and I'm face to face with what initially I thought should be a goddess, hair and body wrapped in towels. She seemed to notice the blood from my nose. "You need to fix that" she says pointing towards my nose.at that she takes my hand pulling me into a room which i think is hers. Rummaging through a drawer, she retrives a cotton wool, taking a piece of it, she presses it to my nose and holds it there. I'm surprised by this gesture, but there really was no need for this, my body was beginning to heal already. One of the many benefits of possessing abilities as mine. I immediately seized the opportunity to study her. She had a straight face, slightly pointed nose. Her small, luscious lips were slightly parted. With skin glowing like crystals, I was ready to bet my skin she really was a goddess among other girls. My eyes travelled away from her face....downwards... The towel that covered her body was incredibly short revealing a pair of beautifully tanned legs... Instantly my testosterone began to skyrocket. And then I caught her scent... She is just HUMAN... But I could sense something about her, something different.Complete

I lay there, staring up into the sky, wondering what had just happened. I had died. Or at least, I thought I died. Synopsis: A 34 year old soldier Simo Shephard dies while in active combat, yet instead of waking up at the pearly gates, he wakes up in a different kind of hell. Read as he survives in a world of animal hybrids known as chimeras, and as he tries his best to aid humanity as they dwindle ever closer to a silent extinction. Will he succeed in making a foothold for humanity? Will he change the tyrannical ways of the world? Or will he fail, leaving the fate of humanity to the chimeras. A/N This is the first story I have ever written. I am dumbfounded that people have found this story good enough to read, so thank you to all the readers! He watched as her eyes skimmed over his dark eyes and black hair with barely a reaction. He felt his pride twinge a bit so he went further. Lifting his hands, he let the blood drip from them. Her eyes widened slightly and her chin rose. She looked at his hands then back at him. His dark eyes gleamed in a challenge. "You've not harmed me or mine, faery." She spoke out loud. "Blood does not scare me and neither do you. Keep your dog on its leash." Then she turned and calmly walked back inside. Intrigued now, he went to the window of the house and watched as she reassured her mother that the dog was gone "I'll see you tonight, reckless child." He promised softly. **** Marcus felt himself beginning to wake and struggled to stay in the dream. But it was no use. His eyes opened and he released the pillow his hand was gripping. It was the same one that she had laid her head on every night. His head went into the pillow heavily for a moment, breathing in her faint scent. He hated and treasured dreams like that with equal fervor. He rolled over on his back and stared at the ceiling. It had been decades since she'd been forced to break that promise. He lifted his hand and touched the ring that had been her last gift. It had been decades, but it was yesterday. ***I did not skimp on the steamy scenes so consider yourselves warned ok? There are also a few violent scenes that I'll try to remember to put a warning before so you'll have a heads up. It must have been a goddess. That he was sure of. In the middle of those dark ashes, a body was laid down, wrapped in a cape that must have been green before but which was now covered in brown because of the ashes. Her face was strikingly pale, of a rare whiteness, but it was also dirtied by the ashes, hiding her cheeks and forehead. But despite those ashes and these dark smudges, one thing was absolutely certain: she was divine. She had a beautiful face with a straight, small nose, lips that were plump even if they were dry and a bit blue from the cold. Her eyes were closed, but her lashes seemed to be long and thick, resting on her cheeks like she was sleeping peacefuly. But all of those traits were not what attracted the Jarl. What did was the streak of hair that rested on her forehead, which had leaked from her hood. Its color was so unique and uncommon for a girl from this country that Tharn remained fixated on it. It was impossible to decide if this girl was a red-head or a blond. It seemed like the gods had not been able to chose in-between those two hair colors and had to give her the tone in between those two: gold. What a waste for such a heavenly creature to be dead, Tharn thought. Well, was he sure she was dead? After kneeling down, he bent over her, placing his fingers on her throat to check if her heart was still beating and placing his cheek in front of her mouth to see if he could feel a breath against his skin. As faint as it was, a light breeze touched him and a slow beat came under his fingers. She was barely alive, but she still was. A sigh of relief escaped him without him controlling it. And what is the longer term prospects for their small settlement? Book 1 of Nine book series covering a Viking Dynasty and interwoven families over several millennia. The first three epics cover the era from B. C. 10 or so to just before the infamous 'Viking Ascendancy' of A.D. 650 to A.D.1200- a period avoided in these tales as already well covered. Then after that three books of the Families over 1300 to 1700 and on into the last three of the nine covering the pre and current contemporary periods up to our times. There may be a deeper 'prequel' coverage as well of Vikings in the Baltic and in the Mediterranean periods before the rise of Rome.
