The only thing I heard next were the ear piercing screams of my family and the horn of a semi truck. 

I woke up blinking my eyes rapidly to adjust them to the light streaming into the room, I propped myself up on my elbows scanning every corner of the room that didn't belong to me. "Where am I?" I mumbled to myself. Still confused I felt a strong migraine creep into my brain. 

The door to my left creaked open revealing a short women in very colorful scrubs. "Good morning, Katie." whispered a voice. Her voice was small and it matched her small figure. I couldn't say anything, my mind was numb. I assume the lady, who was in the doorway but has now made her way towards my bed, saw the confusion on my face. "Katie, do you remember that you were in a car accident."
