A man walks down the alleyway. The tears in my eyes fall, staining my cheeks and jawline. As I wipe them, he looks at the corner by a dumpster. There is a young woman in stained clothes. Me. He looks down at me and smiles. I try to smile back, but continue to cry.
"Excuse me." I look back, running my fingers under my eyes. "Why're you crying?" I slowly turn back toward him.
"Because life isn't fair... My mom left me here because I did something wrong." I look down at the ground as I lean my head back against the brick wall. I slide down to the ground, crying more. He touches my arm and I turn to him.
"You're beautiful, I can tell you're smart. Life is more fair to you then to me. Please trust me. Let me help." I widen my eyes.
"Oh, god. I didn't want-" He gives an understanding smile that shuts me up. He offers a hand and I accept. It isn't difficult for him to help me up. He reaches in his pocket and pulls out a worn leather wallet. "No, you don't have to." He holds a few twenties in his hand.
