Amanda Prescott is in her third year at New Brighton Boarding School. She is the troublemaker of the school and is on her 22nd roommate in that time because no one knows how to deal with her except her best friend Alex Prince and this roommate is no exception. Cassie Young is a bitch and Amanda is quickly annoyed and turns to what she does to let go of her anger, Tennis.

Amanda quickly learns that she can't use tennis as therapy to solve all her problems especially with them amounting. She has pressure from her school, friends and family and it seems like everyone expects her to be something that she isn't and tennis becomes something that isn't helping anymore.
