"Now I'm searching for love through a series of intertwining circuits and power sources. Great."

If there was a way to prove to Emilie Stonso that love exists, it would've had to have been kept secret from the world, because Emilie knows no such feeling. A stubborn teenager who tries to exist and nothing but is encouraged by her friends to try a faceless online relationship.

On the day of their first meeting, not-so-wildchild Emilie is kept from seeing any boy by her overbearing stepfather and Brice Thomson, the mystery boy Emilie met online, chickens out. And so this leads to them sending their best friends in as themselves - not knowing that they are both sending in substitutes. Every date night the friends return and tell of their "dates", which are really both substitutes. And so begins a fitful fight of the proxies, in which real love begins to be questioned and even shared.
