Monie Skye moves to Herndon,Virginia, hoping she can make friends, even just one.

She goes to school just trying to keep her head down and not be noticed, when a boy from across the room smiles at her.

This smile is like many others, a smile that makes her feel like the only girl in the room. Her guess is he's very arrogant and incredibly stupid, but she can't stop thinking about his smile, it's like many, but in a way, it's one of a kind.
As she tries with all her energy to make him notice, she looses more and more of herself. They start dating, but it isn't meant to be.
