"Keziah deserves to know the truth," the woman said softly.
Her chest tightened.

Keziah took a step back, her heart pounding so loudly she feared it might give her away. The words echoed in her mind, shattering everything she thought she knew.
So all this time... it was all a lie?
She turned and ran to her room, locking the door behind her before sliding down onto the cold floor. Tears fell freely as the question she had been afraid to ask finally surfaced.
