In our world, there are two forces. One of darkness, and one of light.

The forces of darkness dwell underground, in large caverns and ravines. The inhabitants of these spaces are demons, who are born of fear and anger, and thirst for it. These nightmarish creatures have one goal: slaughter the human race, and take over the world.

Enter the forces of light. To them, genocide isn't that cool. They're like, "How about you NOT do that, 'k?" These shining paladins of hope (most of them, anyway) are trained to defend the world from these monsters. The guardians of the light are trained to protect at the 'Гэрэл Чапел' (The Chapel of Light).

Jace, who came to the school expecting such, has spent years (one and a half) preparing himself to fight. However, he soon learns that the fight runs much deeper, and the stakes are much higher than he thought.

Volume 1 of the "Age of Solace" series. (Part 1 of 4). A serious dark-fantasy story. Descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes (Rated M, no lemons present). Peace. Conflict. War. Bloodshed. This is the way of things, and this is what happened between the dragons and mankind. Once they were allies. Man was ever growing and learning, while dragons were their guardians, watching over them. But mankind was greedy, and from that greed bred betrayal towards their great allies. In times long ago, dragon and man worked together to rid their realms of the demonic presence that once invaded their lands. Together, they defeated that enemy. But now, dragons are near extinct and the demonic menace has returned. There are humans that possess abilities that allow them to fight back, but it is not enough. Such humans have banded together, in a group called Corvin's blades. They hope to be able to defeat their enemy without the aid of dragons this time... but there is more to all of this than anyone understands. This story follows multiple youthful characters as they not only aid in the fight against the demonic threat, but learn and grow as they discover more about the lands they live in and of themselves. Views on dragons are changing, demons and spirits are invading, and two individuals are in the center of everything that is happening. Was it fate and destiny... or choice and coincidence? *Rated M for descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes* * Chapters to be updated* *Cover art was made by myself. [Check my profile for the new version of this story!!] [This is so... I wrote this when I was 16 😭 I am well aware how bad this is!!] [KnY Various x Isekai!Reader] If you're honest with yourself, getting thrown into 1900's Japan was not the weirdest thing you've done/experienced in your 16/17 years of living. For example: you accidentally stole a penguin from a Zoo! You have no idea where it went, though... Well, in any case, getting isekai'd into Demon Slayer? No sweat! You can totally survive without totally losing your shit! Once you finally learn Japanese and real combat experience, it's over for those demon bitches! But, you find out too quickly that death does not discriminate, not even for Main Characters like you. (On Quotev and AO3 under the same name)
