A Winglock story, influenced a bit by the Maximum Ride stories.
There are five of them. Five successful mutants, avian-humans. They grew up together, a family, their home three rooms in a secret facility. They have never truly seen the outside world, the country of Britain outside where they are, and have no hopes to. 
Then there chance comes. To be free. To fly from the prison they have forever been held in. And of course, they take it.
A decision the eldest, Mycroft, forever regrets.

An interesting twist on the Sherlock universe-Sherlock is a girl. John, however, doesn't know this. Neither does Mrs. Hudson, or anyone else besides his direct family. This takes place sometime after series 2 or 3, with Mary only dating John. It will eventually contain a bit of Johnlock, with the usual tension and what-not throughout the whole story. But this isn't necessarily just a Johnlock story. There'll be other ships somewhat approached, but overall, it's more of a thriller (or at least, I'm trying to have it be). But John is married, so his little (illegal) affair ends, badly.
