Dystopia| (dis TOH pi yah)
Noun
An imagined place where everything is unpleasant or bad. Most often in totalitarian places.

They call it Dystopia.

Elizabeth, more commonly known as Lizzy, is the misfit of her generation. She's the outcast. Even in Dystopia, the land of outcasts, she finds a way to stand out.

-------

The Dystopians are the complete opposite of the Utopians.

In Utopia, the great land, everything is perfect. Especially for Luke, the most loved of all. Luke is special. He's the only Utopian who can do Dystopian things.

On a Dystopian school field-trip to Utopia, Lizzy meets Luke. Luke shows her the things he can do, unknown to the other Utopians.

Certain that something is amiss in the government, Lizzy insists that Luke comes with them back to Dystopia, so he doesn't get caught by the Utopian government and deemed a traitor to be executed.

Cassidy lives like most other under 21s - she follows the law. She knows that if she doesn't, she risks being taken away. Rebellious behaviour cannot be tolerated under any circumstances, especially with her parents watching her every move. The rules have been in place for a long time - the Democrats have beaten the Republicans in the New Elections for the past 60 years, with their names being the only recognisable aspects of their parties when comparing to the past. Anyone that chooses not to follow the rules can drop out and become what's known as an Outcast, but then you risk being imprisoned. While America seems to be running perfectly under these laws, a rebellion is stirring among the professionals. With secrets and lies in government and families alike to change the future of America forever, Cassidy finds herself caught up in the middle of the all out war that is about to break out. What she thought she knew about her world is about to change forever, bringing everyone she knows down with her. DISCLAIMER 2016/2017: This book is a few years old at this point, and due to the political uproar in American in 2016 I feel the need to make this abundantly clear. Outcasts takes place in a dystopian world in an undetermined year in the future, and the political parties depicted in this story - the Republicans and the Democrats - are in no way, shape or form a commentary on their real-life counterparts. I had very little knowledge of American politics when I wrote this story, and if I could go back and change their names I would. Throughout the story you will read of absurd flaws in both party agendas, and in no way did I ever intend to shame or defame the real life Republican and Democratic parties of America. See them as purely fictitious - that's what they are, after all.

COMPLETED (EDIT: In the process of being rewritten! Some of the writing might have you cringing! New chapters will be uploaded once they're all edited and written!) Meet Olivia, she's from Amity. You may think that everyone is Amity is just the happiest people in the world, right? Well, you're wrong. Not everyone at least. When Olivia transfers to Dauntless, where her sister transferred, no one could really figure out why. But will her past from Amity follow her? Haunt her, even? What about a certain Dauntless leader that seems to like her? "Training is over for today, everyone out!" Eric roars and as I'm about to walk through the door, I hear his cold voice yet again, "Not you Via, you stay," The others flood out and I stay planted near the door, he slowly stalks towards me and I find myself walking backward until I've hit the door behind me, I slightly jump from shock and let out yet another shaky sigh, he puts both of his arms beside my head, easily towering over me. "I'm going to break you," he starts, speaking darkly as he looks directly into my eyes, "I'm not sure how, but I will, and I'm going too," "You can't break something that's already been broken by someone else," I whisper, barely audible but I know he hears it. "Who could have possibly broken you? You lived in Amity, Baby doll," he snarls, and I push him out of the way with my shoulder. I walked out of there. (As of 3/28/2019) #1 in Divergent-12.7 stories. (Best) (THIS STORY TALKS ABOUT SOME MATURE THINGS THAT MAY TRIGGER SOME PEOPLE.) I do not own Divergent, I do not own the original Divergent characters, but I do own my characters. {BOOK ONE} There are five factions. Each had their own reasoning for thinking why the war had happened. Dauntless; cowardice and fear. They strive to be brave, fearless. Erudite; ignorance. They strive for intellect, to be smart and curious. Candor; deception. They strive to be honest. Amity; they blamed the war itself along with fighting. They strive to be kind, forgiving, peaceful. Abnegation; selfishness. So they strive to be selfless. Dauntless are our police. Erudite are our teachers. Candor is the law. Amity are the farmers. And Abnegation are our government. I would sit on the ground everyday, wearing my yellow dress with black sandals. Wasn't the best thing for me. Dresses made my shoulders to broad, especially the flowing ones. When I was home alone, or with my mother, I would wear I tight black shirt and white shorts. No one would really approve, mostly because they were Candor colours along with the fact it's not... welcoming enough. I never understood Amity, not because of the kindness and the peacefulness; well, mostly the peacefulness. Whenever it should come down to defending ourselves or walking away. We walked away. It confused me. Maybe I wasn't Amity enough to understand. Maybe I wasn't kind enough. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't belong here. So where do I belong? A/N : First chapter is a little sketchy but that is the case with all of my books. I promise it does get a lot better afterwards Start: Feb 06 2021 End: Dec 15 2021
