"Marlene I need you to do three things for me. The first this is don't leave the house until you absolutely have to. The second thing is don't unlock any of your doors or windows. In fact, I would recommend locking your bedroom door as well. The third thing is, if you see anyone behaving abnormally, if anything seems even a little bit off, I want you to run. Don't look back, don't think, just run. Get away from there. "Marlene....If your parents come back....Don't let them in...I want you to jump out your window, climb down, and run. Don't stop running because once you're outside, you're never going to be safe, no matter where you are. "If you see any black puddles anywhere, avoid them at all costs. In fact, I would stay a good hundred yards away. Don't go near it. I don't know how people are affected but I do know it has something to do with the rain. "Marlene...They're at the door now...I'm going to leave soon....I just want you to know that..... You've always been a great friend to me. I'm grateful for your friendship. I know you can survive this. You have the willpower and the brains to survive. So do that for me. Survive." -------------------------- People are dropping dead all around. After earthquakes and the black rain, people turned weird. Everyone around...they were all either homicidal or suicidal monsters. If they weren't killing themselves, they were killing others. Lucas, Melody, Tyler, and Marlene, four average teenagers, are the last ones left who haven't been affected by whatever turned their family and friends into killers. At least...the only ones in America. With no contact with the outside world, the four teens set out to find means of communication with anybody who can save them from this living hell. But what do you do when the only people you ever trusted have turned against you, and are hunting you and your friends to kill? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ New chapters every week! Thanks to everybody reading this. Have a good day.

"Are you coming to bed firefly?" He says to me laying his hands over my waist joining me in looking over the city. "I want to look out for a little longer if that is alright?" I mumble hoping that he heard me anyways, I wasn't ready to walk into that bedroom, and I don't think I ever would be. "Of course, I'll be getting ready for bed, come in whenever you are ready." He says confidently and walks away leaving my waist cold something for which I am grateful. Especially when my mind burns with other more dangerous thoughts. The warmth that forever lingers in the air, never burning the skin, but always reminding about what is around us. I force air into my lungs feeling the unexpected warmth fill me. He stands in the room watching me even though he said he was getting ready for bed. He is worried about me, about me jumping. I have contemplated it I will admit, but he would stop me before I fell even two feet. I was stuck, and no one could save me. Not even myself, my fucking weak self. His presence is demanding no matter where we are, but right now I could sense everything about him, and I try to suppress the unwanted feelings that curl right under my skin. "Firefly? About done?" He calls out and I release my hand from the guard rail not realizing that as I looked at the lights that covered the shining city with the falling fire in the background that my subconscious was thinking about how nice it would be... how relieving it would be... to just fall. True freedom. I take a step back and wrap my hands together turning around to a fully clothed unchanged man and nod once. I could see the fear in his eyes that I would, he knows if he gave me the chance... I wasn't ready for this, but I had to survive. No matter what. Highest Ranks: #17 In Romance #5 in Soulmates
