"Hello Arianna." he said smiling.

"You know my name ?" I asked puzzled.

"Of course I do", Mr. Lee replied chuckling ," now this is going to hurt, but the pain will stop soon do you understand ?" I nodded in response and he slowly put his hand on the left side of my neck, pushing my hair out of the way. I didn't actually understand, but I could now hear my mother sobbing in the background. All to soon I understood his serious question though, my neck started burning and eventually my whole entire body was searing with pain. I could feel everything but I couldn't move at all, I couldn't scream, I couldn't push the strange mans hand away.

I thought it would become too much and I would lose the fight, I was battling to stay awake, but instead of falling asleep; I woke up.

I woke to a sudden breeze invading the warmth from the heavy blanket that caressed my skin. Here, alone with my thoughts, the still, calm quiet in the atmosphere is almost painful. I feel suffocated in the clingy, static air. In quiet, still moments like these, I can almost feel Him. I don't know who "Him" is, but I can feel his presence. It's almost calming, especially on fearful, anxiety fueled nights. Usually, he was the strongest when I had a nightmare. The nightmares weren't as common now, but, right after everything happened, I was having them every night. I'd wake up and swear I was drenched in blood, my eyes and lips sticky, my nose filled with the smell of iron and fuel. After everything, that's when Him first came. From there, he just never left. I can usually sense when Him is near. Today, though, his presence is stronger. I can almost feel Him next to me, weighing down the mattress. Some nights, I roll over and imagine how he looks, envision his smile or the sparkle in his eyes. He's never there and I'm left clutching to the thought that he exists, staring into empty air. Tonight, though, I swear I can reach out and touch him. Extending my hand gently, I sweep my hand out into the darkness and meet an inexplicable warmth. A scream rips from my lungs as hands cover my face and two icy blue eyes stare back at me, daring me to speak again. A soft cloth caressed my nose and mouth before I felt myself fade into bed. Olive the Other Werewolves by hooodster

"Shift." His voice hit me like a serrated blade as he stepped out of the crude semicircle of hardened wolves that had formed around me. I pushed myself off of the cold floor for what felt like the thousandth time that day, wiping the small trail of blood coming off of my lip and down my chin. "I won't ask you again." My limbs felt like lead, these wolves had been at me for hours trying to get me to shift into my wolf, unbeknown to them was that their efforts would forever be futile considering the fact my wolf wouldn't make an appearance for me even when I begged. I seriously doubted she would suddenly pop up as a result of their abusive tactics. Instead of explaining my circumstances, driven by a bizarre combination of adrenaline and fatigue, I leaned back on my heels and sent the largest loogie I'd ever conjured flying over and landing squarely between the eyes of the man before me. oOoOoOoOoOo As a late bloomer who was incapable of shifting yet, let alone making any contact with her wolf, Olive Ludovic's life was not off to the best start. Growing up, constantly being tormented and taunted by those around her forced Olive to grow a tough skin and work even harder, despite the fact she was without her wolf. When her home is taken over by a dark pack, life seems to only get worse for Olive as it is quickly discovered that her mate is none other than Matteo, the Alpha of the very pack that was terrorizing her people. It seems to her, that life is just a little bit easier for Olive the Other Werewolves. oOoOoOo hello! just fyi there will be mature language and content as the book progresses so i'm letting ya know now ;) HIGHEST WEREWOLF RANKING = 2, LOVE RANKING = 3 (out of 1.8 million books XD), MAGIC RANKING = 1, ROMANCE RANKING = 1 (out of 1.5 million books XD), VAMPIRE RANKING =1!

"Well, whatever you do, I'm sure it'll be great," he said, his smile lingering. "You deserve to have an amazing time." His words made me blush a little, and I was about to reply when I felt it-that familiar prickle on the back of my neck. I glanced toward the corner, and there he was. The man with the whiskey. Only this time, his gaze wasn't just lingering. It was burning. His eyes were locked on Mark, sharp and intense, and for the first time, I felt a real chill. There was something different about him tonight-something I couldn't quite name, but it sent a ripple of unease through me. "You okay?" Mark asked, his voice pulling me back to the present. "Yeah," I said, forcing a smile. "Just got a little distracted." Mark nodded, his expression softening as he leaned a little closer. "Well, if you need a break or want to chat, I'm around." He reached out and lightly touched my hand, his fingers brushing mine for just a second, but it was enough to snap me out of the moment. Because across the room, I heard the sharp scrape of a chair against the floor. I looked up, my heart skipping a beat. He was now on his feet, his jaw clenched so tightly I could see the muscle twitch. His eyes-dark, angry-met mine for the briefest moment, and I swear the air in the room thickened. He didn't say a word, but it made me feel like it was a warning. Without a word, he then stormed out, the door slamming behind him with a bang that made everyone in the bar pause for a second.

"Mine" he breathes into my neck, with his deep voice. I'm frozen in a spot as he said that, I couldn't tell if I should be afraid or surrender. Even if I could run, he would catch me and if I could resist and fight I wouldn't be a challenge for him since I'm wounded. So what should I do? "You think too much" he abruptly says and separated from my neck. "Don't worry I will bring no harm to you. Rest. You have already been through too much" he says with compassion in his eyes. I remained silent trying to study he's features. I admit I'm not good at being a judge of character or know how to respond to emotions, but there was something about his actions that had a weird effect on me. I didn't respond and looked away afraid that he would punish me for looking into he's eyes "Face me" he says raising my chin to him. I force myself to look fearing the consequences if I don't agree. "From now on, you're mine and I'm yours. So do not bow your head to me" with a faint brush against my face he sighs and leaves. And I'm left in the room, shocked and surprised at what just happened.
