Skylar Emmett always dreamed of getting out of Olmito, Texas.  Yet even though she dreamed night and day, she could barely make it off of her front porch in order to go to work every morning.  Fresh out of high school and still working hard, Skylar believed that the sky was never the limit, and that she could go above and beyond the ordinary in her tiny town.  Skylar wanted to go to college, and show that all of her hard work would eventually pay off.  She loved the idea of  being a young woman now more than anything, and she couldn't wait make her momma proud.  College was the start of adulthood, and living away from home would be the hardest thing that she ever had to do.   Life was practically starting for Skylar, and nothing could change that.
