Chapter 1 : Clouds
''Have you noticed the clouds?'
"What?"
"The clouds".
"Well yes, they're there most of the time".
"Not that".
"Well, you did ask me to notice them. What else do you want?'
"They look different"
She squinted her eyes at the sky over head. They were puffy and white with a soft exterior you could almost touch. They looked the same as they always do.
"They don't seemed to have changed since the last time I saw some".
"It's not that either. They aren't different from each other but, they are to other things".
She raised an eyebrow in confusion and question of her colleges sanity, which was not the first time. He was...eccentric.
"How so?"
He of course answered that question with a question of equal explanation and an extra amount of thought.
"Explain what a cloud looks like without using adjectives"
She tried to think of a clever comeback to put his sanity back into place with equal caliber, but her answer was quite ordinary despite her extreme amount of effort.
"Cotton in a field of blue flowers"
"Good try, very poetic, but still"
He paused to take up his thoughts for a moment
" Cotton blends into itself. From far away you would think it's just a white mass. It's a bit more silver than white now that you think about it".
"Whipped cream is white and fluffy like clouds but it's more swirly and decorative. Thick too"
"Food coloring in water I think is the closest, but it moves down and doesn't last long before it blends with itself".
He paused again to let this sink in.
"Clouds are their own texture their own color and feel".
"I guess they do"
"I want to make something like that"
"You want to make clouds?"
He giggled at the thought of him gathering up cloud supplies in a large cauldron with a with hat and cloak to mark his occupation.
"I want to make something so unique that you couldn't even describe it correctly!"
She carefully layed down her red leather binded book into the grass
"We better get started"
